A career change with the help of Level 2 Warehousing and Storage

Being made redundant is never an easy process. Sometimes it can be hard to keep your chin up and remain focused. Lee Groves was made redundant in December 2019 and decided to look for a change in career.

Whilst searching for options within his local JobCentre Plus in Birkenhead, Lee came across an interesting course. The Level 2 Warehousing and Storage course with Innovative Alliance, which included gaining a Fork Lift Truck (FLT) licence. He was immediately interested in this course due to it’s additional licensing opportunity.

This course covers the key topics needed to start a career in warehousing. He would go on to learn about health and safety and developing relationships in the workplace. Additionally, checking stock levels, stock records, and customer service training were also covered. Lee, however picked up many other skills from the course. He said,

“The qualification is a massive help as it broadens my options from just construction based work.”

“It has helped in many different ways. It has instilled a new way of thinking in me that has increased my self-esteem and made me feel better about myself. The qualification is a massive help as it broadens my options from just construction based work. The FLT license is also a large advantage in my pursuit of a new career.”

Completing this course has opened new doors for Lee who is now applying for roles within the warehousing sector. Lee is especially grateful for the support he has received from his tutor, Ady, at Innovative Alliance. He said;

“I would just like to thank all those involved with the course and for providing me with such wonderful training. Especially Ady who does so much for his students. He really does go above and beyond for the people on his course. He puts in a lot of effort to ensure his courses are enjoyable and that everybody goes away with the qualification.

“The course was absolutely excellent from beginning to end. The location was very good and our course tutor was a credit to the company. The team building aspects were good because you were involved with different people each time.”

Network Partners

With the help of Innovative Alliance, through their network of partners and connections, Lee is heading on the right track back in to employment. He is now planning to progress even further. Lee is now confident in how knowledge and skills gained from the Level 2 Warehousing and Storage course. He also achieved his Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck licence. When asked about his experience on the course with Innovative Alliance, he said;

“I would absolutely recommend any course ran by Innovative Alliance. You are made to not only feel better about yourself, but also gain and develop many skills.  Maths, English and team building. I was also introduced to other organisations that can assist me in looking for work and offering assistance in doing so.”
